Discipline Policy

Pinewood Expectations

The mission of Pinewood Elementary centers on the Pinewood community working together for our students.

It is the mission of the Pinewood community to ensure an engaging environment for all by working together so students will succeed.
We realize that this can only happen through a cooperative atmosphere of staff, students, and parents. It is with this in mind that we have created a student plan.

Each student at Pinewood Elementary School learns best in a school environment that focuses on learning and encourages respect and responsibility. Responsible behavior assures the best possible learning environment and maintains the safety and well-being of all persons in the school. Each student at Pinewood is responsible and accountable for their behavior and actions. Students are expected to behave in a manner that will be a credit to the school, their family, and themselves at all times. Courtesy to other students, faculty, and all school employees is important both in and out of the classroom. Students at Pinewood can expect to be treated with the same respect by the staff.

Discipline is recognition of human dignity and the rights of others. Children need to understand that the rules of the school aim at safeguarding liberties rather than curbing them. Our ultimate goal is for each child to attend school in an atmosphere that promotes respect for all. Action will be taken if a child seriously interferes with the work or plan and the safety of others or if a child destroys or damages school property. If a child fails to act in an appropriate manner toward their peers, authorized personnel, and school property or continually fails in their responsibility toward assignments, the Pinewood Behavior Plan will be implemented.

P=Provide Respect
A=Act Safely
W=Work Hard
S=Show Responsibility
